Halloween is here! That time of the year when you can experiment with your clothes and try on spooky makeup. GSS is a spooktacularly spirited evening for you. GSS Annual General Meeting 2016

Dear Fellow GSS members,

Thank you very much for your support for our past events! We hope that you all are doing well with your studies! Times flies and a year has gone by since the 30th Executive Committee of GSS took office in last September. Thank you for all help to make the life of NUS postgraduate students pleasant and enjoyable.

Over the past year, we have been trying to fulfill GSS’s mission, to serve all the postgraduate students, to connect between all the postgraduate students and university, and to enrich all the postgraduate students’ life. We have catered to the needs of postgraduate students by organizing fun events, workshops and also by working as the voice of the graduate community of NUS. We hope all our efforts have created a memorable experience for you and made your graduate life more colorful!

We are now approaching the end of our term in office. We sincerely thank you all for your continuous support and invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2016 on 25th September. The Annual General Meeting is a meeting for all members of the society, where the committee will report our year’s events, as well as elect in the new committee. The AGM is also a chance to give recognition to the leaving 30th ExCo and to form the 31st ExCo. 

Student leadership roles will poise you to be successful in the workforce and we strongly encourage every one of you to take up a role in our committee or sub-committee. Through organizing our many events, you will become more confident and responsible individuals, improve your communication and networking skills, management and problem-solving skills and you might even awaken your undiscovered talents! Registration with us If you wish to join GSS as part of the 31st executive committee, the candidates for positions will be required to deliver a 3 minutes election speech following by a 2 minutes Q&A. Note that the deadline for registering as a candidate will be on 18th September. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information. The details of the event are below:

Don't worry, we have prepared a GSS Welcome Tea session, for which we invite all post-graduates, interested in knowing more about being an executive member in GSS to attend. It is a great opportunity for you to understand the functioning of our society and make new friends!

GSS Height-O-Mania! (Part of NUS Day of Service Events)

Hello fellow graduates,
NUS will be organizing an event known as the NUS Day of Service, which is held on 3rd September 2016. The NUS Day of Service is a day when the whole NUS community comes together to give back to the community through action and service. This year, GSS will be organizing a fun and interesting fund raising project for the graduate students known as Height-O-Mania
On this day, GSS urges graduate students like you to put your brains and brawn to the challenge in this exhilarating Vertical Marathon cum Amazing Race, all while doing your part for charity! All proceeds will go the SPD, a society for the physically disabled. 
To join Height-O-Mania, all you need to do is form a team of 3 and join us in this challenge. Graduate students are allowed to bring family/friends to participate in this event as well. Every participant will be awarded with a certificate of participation and top 3 winning teams will receive medals for their participation. Don't worry if you do not have a team right now, just come with an open mind to make new friends! We will help you form a team.
Here are the participation fees and all the proceeds from this event will go to SPD:

Non-members: S$20

Staff, Alumni & families/friends: S$25
